DEVELOPING COUNTRIES NGOs PARTICPATE IN THE 37TH BOARD MEETING OF THE STOP TB PARTNERSHIP IN BRAZIL.
Members of the developing country NGOs participated in the 37th Board Meeting of the Stop TB Partnership which took place in Brazil from 5-7 February, 2024.
PRE -BOARD MEETING OF DEVELOPING CPOUNTRY NGOs
A pre- board meeting was held on the 5th of February by members to discuss issues of common interest to the delegation and to solicit for some forward-looking ideas to ensure meaningful contributions from members and to also advance the interest of the delegation.
BOARD MEETING PROCEEDINGS
The 37th Stop TB Board meeting was called to order by the Vice Chairman of the Stop TB Partnership, Austin Arinze Obiefuna on the 5th February 2024 at 9:30 am, Brazilian time.
As part of his introductory remarks, Mr. Obiefuna Arinze re-lived some decision points of the last Board Meeting and called for increased support and commitment from the Government of Brazil towards programs and activities of Civil Society.
WELCOME ADDRESS BY DR. LUCICA DITITU
The Executive Director of the Stop TB Partnership welcomed all members on behalf of the Stop TB Partnership to the three days Board Meeting in Brazil. She continued with a snap presentation on some notable enviable achievements of the Stop TB Partnership in the areas of savings and signing of new contracts by the secretariat.

A total of nine (9) draft decision points were carried in the 37th Stop TB Partnership Board meeting in the following thematic areas

- INNOVATIONS FOR TB RESPONSE

- COMMUNITY LED MONITORING

Closing of the 37th Board Meeting
The three days thought provoking 37th Stop TB Partnership Board Meeting was ended with discussions on governance and an announcement on the next board meeting to be hosted in Nigeria. This decision was arrived at because of an appeal made by the Health Minister of Nigeria to partnership pleading for an opportunity to host the next board meeting in Abuja- Nigeria in December of 2024.
